Chi è chi fa?
Dad always translated this bit of Sicilian idiom as, "What are you doing?" He was heard
saying it often enough and it seemed such a good question to be asking that we decided to make it
his epitaph. Uncle Frank suggested shortening it to "Chi fa?" for engraving on dad's tombstone and that's
what we did.
So now if you visit dad's grave in Oak Grove Cemetery or click the link at the top of
this page, Sam Tag will ask you,
"What are you doing?" A reminder to think about what you're about and how you're living your
dash
(that dash between birth year and death year on a tombstone).
